Boulder audio components were chosen as the reference electronics used during a recent comparison of new and old Beatles albums on vinyl LP.
A panel of experts, including radio personalities, music journal writers, columnists and Beatles experts and aficionados gathered at Audio Consultants in Evanston, IL to compare various editions of classic Beatles releases on a high-performance audio system valued at $165,000. Vinyl pressings of the complete Beatles album cycle, including a newly remastered and released boxed set (2012), previously remastered editions from Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs (1982) and an earlier “The Beatles Collection” set (1979) were evaluated for sound quality and musicality.
